The Citizens Advice Bureau Community Builders Trial and the Princes Trust ‘Winter Warmers’ Project Appeal.

This appeal is in aid of a community focused project providing vital additional assistance with fuel poverty to keep families, elderly and individuals on benefits, well and warm in the coming winter months. A temporary distribution point for FREE warm clothing has been created and this project will be an extension of the successful Citizens Advice Bureau initiative - ‘Warm Homes, Healthy People. The stock will be sourced through public appeal’s over the next few weeks, that is why your help is needed for donations of coats/hats and scarfs/wellies/sleeping bags/torches/school uniforms/ jumpers. Please can you take any donations to the Citizens Advice Bureau in Carnarvon Road. A ‘Pop up Shop’ has been set up based at 33 Pier Avenue (next to Mark and Spencer) to enact as the distribution point. The Princes Trust have provided the resource to source equipment, refurbish the premises and provide volunteers to man the shop. Volunteers are also needed to sort through donations and label and process garments. Members, representatives and stakeholders from the voluntary and community sector are invited to have their say on the draft Strategy, which is being developed as part of the Whole Essex Community Budgets Strengthening Communities programme. The strategy is open for public consultation until 31st January 2014. Partners are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to submit their thoughts and comments, and to spread the word about the consultation to their wider networks to ensure as many stakeholders as possible have an opportunity to share their views. The 60th AGM of the Clacton Carnival Association is being held on Tuesday, 19th November at Sam’s Hall, CVST, 20-22 Rosemary Road, Clacton starting at 7.30pm. Anyone is welcome to attend. The Carnival Association are still actively looking for new committee members and helpers to help run one of the most successful Carnivals in Essex.
