Clacton Choral Society Unmissable Easter Favourites - Saturday 28 March, 7.30 pm

Venue: St James’ Church, Tower Road, Clacton on Sea   CO15 1DA

If you have never attended a choral evening, this Easter offers you the perfect opportunity to dip your toes in, and find out what you have been missing!  The well established choir of Clacton Choral will be performing a confirmed favourite, the Stainer Crucifixion. This is an extended meditation for Passiontide: the expression of emotion described with rising and falling melodies, including the well known chorus ‘God so Loved the World’- choral singing at its very best.  The programme continues with the classic Faure’s Requiem in an arrangement by David Hill for harp, organ, violin and cello. Our local choir and guest musicians will together evoke Faure’s atmospheric melodies and harmonies, in the imposing setting of Clacton’s St James’ Church, along with professional soloists Paul Bloomfield (tenor) and Peter Grevatt (bass). This performance of the Requiem will be in memory of Gilli’s late father, John Francis Price (25.1.1932 - 2.3.2014). Do come along and share what promises to be a lovely evening.  Tickets are just £10 which includes a comprehensive programme, and refreshments, and can be booked by ‘phoning 01255 424568 or email johnkedge@tiscali.co.uk

The first (and only) Rehearsal for anyone who wishes to do a Solo/Duet/Trio/Group number is on Wednesday 11th March 2015.
